OpenOffice.org would be the best Free Microsoft Office alternative if they would clean up the installer and stop forcing an installation folder on the desktop. If you move or remove the installation folder then you can't upgrade to a newer version and either have to reformat your PC or clean out all the folders, files and registry keys it leaves behind after you uninstall it. To me this is not worth it when there are free alternatives like IBM Lotus Symphony which offer the same features but with a cleaner installer and cleaner interface.

Best:

Free
Updated often
Compatible with Windows 7

Worst:

Horrible Installer
Leaves too much stuff behind after uninstalling
Not as pleasant or clean as other free alternatives
